IT'S a simple formula: Bankers score double points in Select A Stable, so to have any chance of scooping first prize you must find two winners in this category.
Be guided by the betting because Big Buck's (World Hurdle) and Quevega (David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle) are likely to be the shortest-priced runners at this year's festival. They have outstanding claims, so they should be your two Bankers.
It's a shame that Arkle-bound Medermit hasn't made the Bankers section, because he's the bet of the meeting and can give Alan King a third Arkle in six seasons. Hopefully, Philip Hobbs will point Captain Chris towards the Jewson because he has an ideal blend of speed and stamina for 2m4f.
Long Run can give the second-season chasers another Grade 1 success in the Gold Cup, while Menorah seems to have had a smooth preparation and can prove he's top-class in the Champion Hurdle.
Moving on to the Good chances, Totesport Trophy hero Recession Proof offers a value alternative to Cue Card in the Supreme Novices'; First Lieutenant, being by Presenting, would love good ground in the Neptune Investment; Barafundle has the ability to win the Pertemps off 140 and J'y Vole appeals in an open Ryanair.
If Hey Big Spender jumps round in the Byrne Group Plate he will be hard to beat, and A New Story in the Cross Country completes my dozen.
The best of luck with your stables - don't forget to enter!
